H.E. Park Kang-ho, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the United Arab Emirates hosted iftar for UAE government officials on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Korean Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Before the iftar, Korean cooking class by Chef Jin Choi (Atelier M Restaurant, Dubai) was demonstrated and 18 Emiratis learnt how to cook Samgyetang, Ginseng Chicken Soup. At the cooking class, chickens from Al Ain local farms and ginseng and earthen pots from Korea were used for authentic experience and the taste.
At iftar, various Korean traditional delicacies including Bulgogi, Japchae, Kimbap, Kimch and Samgyetang were very popular by Emirati guests.
Ambassador Park during his speech said the UAE and Korea will strengthen the ties further after the telephone call between President Moon Jae-in and H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces. Through the iftar at the embassy, Ambassador Park expects to see more interest in Korean food and import of Korean agricultural products in the UAE.
