The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters decided to implement temperature checks on all passengers taking Korea bound flights prior to their boarding in accordance with the following standard.
As the decision was made with the aim of minimizing the import of COVID 19 cases from foreign nations and preventing the further spread of the COVID 19 between passengers in the cabin, all airlines operating to and from the Republic of Korea are asked to actively cooperate in conducting temperature checks as follows.
The pre-boarding temperature check
▶is required of all passengers taking Korea bound flights whose arrival time in Korea is from 00am Monday 30th March,2020 (KST).
▶must be conducted on all passengers , regardless of nationality , except flight crew . In addition to temperature check*, passengers are asked of questions regarding their health condition.(Tentative) If a passenger is confirmed to have fever with temperature over 37.5℃ (or show any signs of COVID 19 related symptoms), he/she is deplaned and gets refunded or goes through any other process deemed necessary.
* If a passenger has a fever at first temperature check, two more checks will be conducted at an interval of ten minutes. When the passenger is confirmed to have no fever with temperature below 37.5 after the final check , he/she may board.
▶must be conducted by all airlines, irrespective of Korean national carriers and foreign carriers.
