George Weston Hall of Toronto Centre for the Arts on June 21, 2019 (Fri.) at
7:30 pm, co-produced by the National Gugak Center and Kirin Production and co-organized
by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Canada (Korean Culture Center
Canada) and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto. About 800 guests—including prominent
figures from political, business,
and cultural fields as well as people from Korean
community and ordinary citizens attended
this film concert.
Chung, Tae-in, Consul-General of the Republic of Korea stressed in his opening
remark that it was meaningful to show Korean folk drama along with Korean
traditional music in Toronto, heart of multicultural Canada introducing Kokdu as an
attractive performance with a unique format combining live Korean traditional music
and movie, and with a storytelling interweaving reality and fantasy through
screen and stage. He also expressed his hope that a lot of Canadian people will
enjoy Korean traditional music and culture through this concert.

2018 Busan International Film Festival and screened at the 2019 Bucheon
International Fantastic Film Festival and the 2019 Berlin International Film
Festival with considerable critical acclaim.
