Ambassador Enna Park visited the University of Oxford on 6 June to attend a seminar to celebrate the publication of a book on Korean treasures in the University of Oxford.
The book, the 2nd volume of, is the result of the passion and hard work of Mr Minh Chung, the Head of Bodleian China Centre Library and Korean Collections. Korean Treasures: Rare Books, Manuscripts and Artefacts in the Bodleian Libraries and Museums of the Oxford University.
Ambassador Park also discussed at a lunch meeting how to promote Korean studies at the University of Oxford with professors and scholars including Professor Anne Trefethen, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Scientific Computing, Sir Tim Hitchens, President of Wolfson college, Professor James Lewis, Professor of Korean History, Mr Ming Chung, Dr Gillian Evision, Keeper of Oriental Collections, and Dr Miriam Chung, Department of Education.
She also met Korean students, from Oxford University Korea Society(OUKS) and Oxford Korean Academic society(OKAS) and exchanged views on ways to strengthen the Korean community at the University of Oxford.
