On 25 June 2019, Ambassador Enna Park visited St Paul’s Cathedral to commemorate the 69th Anniversary of the Outbreak of the Korean War and laid a wreath to pay tribute to all of those who served in the Korean War. 30 British Korean War Veterans, and their families and friends joined the Ambassador at the Cathedral and they also attended the lunch reception on HMS Belfast afterwards.
On HMS Belfast, H.E. Ms Enna Park expressed gratitude to the veterans who ‘willingly came to defend a country they never knew and a people they never met’ during the Korean War.
HMS Belfast is a town-class light cruiser and now permanently moored as a museum ship on the River Thames in London. She was deployed to the Far East for combat action in 1950-52 during the Korean War.
