Ambassador Enna Park visited the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum on Wednesday, 27 November. Ambassador Park exchanged views on the museum's relationship with the Republic of Korea and possible cooperation in the near future. At the museum, she also met with one of the British veterans of the Battle of the Imjin River and expressed her appreciation.
The visit was followed by a special ceremony and reception hosted by The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Gloucester, Councillor Colin Organ, at the Civic Suite of the North Warehouse, Gloucester Docks. Ambassador Park congratulated NATO's Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) on being awarded the Freedom of the City and expressed her gratitude for the city's continued efforts to commemorate the Korean War. The ARRC is based at Imjin Barracks, named after the Battle of the Imjin River in which the Gloucestershire Regiment made a significant contribution to protect the freedom and liberal democracy of the Republic of Korea during the Korean War.
