H.E. Woon-ki Lyeo attended the ceremony to donate 75 motorcycles and medical equipments to the Ghana Health Service(GHS) to assist in the health care of new born babies in Northern and Upper East Regions. The ceremony was held from May 3 to 4, 2016.
Government officials including Abdallah Abubakari, Northern Regional Minister, Albert Abongo, Upper East Regional Minister, James Agalga, Deputy Minister of Interior attended the ceremony and expressed their appreciation to the government of the Republic of Korea. They promised to maintain proper care of these equipments for efficient use.
The Northern and Upper East Regions are one of the most deprived regions in Ghana. The donation forms part of the Life Cycle Approach Project with the aim of supporting child development from birth to adolescence stage. Hopefully, the motorcycles would support to improve the health care of newborn babies and also reduce neonatal mortality.
