H.E. KIM Sungsoo, Ambassador Chargé d'affaires of the Republic of Korea attended the donation ceremony of Medical equipment presented by the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) to the Ghana Health Service as part of the ongoing project in the Volta Region to promote safe delivery and improved antenatal care in the Region. The ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Ghana Health Service in Accra. The equipment donated worth USD25,000 included a portable ultrasound machine, fetal dopplers, stethoscopes, aneroid blood pressure, automatic blood pressure, delivery bed, optical microscope among others.
In his remarks, H.E. KIM Sungsoo said the equipment would improve the quality of healthcare for pregnant women and newborn babies as well as encourage the medical staff in the rural area in carrying out their duties.
The Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, expressed his gratitude for the donation adding that, KOFIH’s contribution is improving the health sector in Ghana. He was hopeful that the donation would be extended to other regions in the country.
