Workation(Digital Nomad) Visa

Workation(Digital Nomad) Visa announcement


The Workation (Digital Nomad) Visa (F-1-D) is available for application from January 1st,  2024. Please find information below. 


Who can apply: Those who have been employed in a foreign company (or owns foreign company) for more than 1 year and are able to work remotely in Korea, and their family. 

Age: 18 year old or older (family can be younger)

Condition

 - Must earn more than twice the Korean GNI(Gross National Income) per capita of the previous year as announced by the Bank of Korea, after tax deduction. 

  *Current standard is 2022 Korean GNI(42,480,000 KRW) per capita X 2. 

One must earn approx. 250,000 ILS per year or 21,000 ILS per month after tax deduction to apply for this visa)

 - Do not have Criminal record

 - Has Medical insurance that covers 300,000 ILS for medical treatment and flight transfer to home country during stay in Korea 

o Status in Korea: Must not get employed in Korea or conduct profit work in Korea. 

o Visa type: F-1-D (Workation), Multiple entry Visa (Valid period 1 year, Stay period 1 year)


o Required Documents: 

  • 1. Visa application form (attached)

  • 2. Valid passport 

  • 3. A recent passport photo (3.5 x 4.5cm, color photo with the white background)

  • 4. Fee (the fee waiver for more than 90 days)

  • 5. Employment letter that proves one's current employment and at least 1 year of employment in the past (Issued within 2 weeks from application date)

  • 6. Salary, income proof (Both Payslip and Recent 3 months' Bank statement history)

  • 7. Israel Criminal Record Certificate (Issued within 3 months, affixed with apostille) *

  • 8. Health insurance which remains valid throughout your stay in Korea (Coverage:  300,000 ILS for medical treatment and flight transfer to home country including coverage details)

  • 9. Family relationship Certificate (in case of family's visa application)

※ The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.


*If you have lived more than 1 year in a foreign country, you will also need to submit that country's Background check/Police certificate with apostille.



II. General Information

 We do NOT accept any visa applications by E-mail.

  • - Please be informed that it takes about 7 working days to issue visa.

  • - As most visas are valid for 3 months from the issue date, please apply for visa no more than 2 months in advance from the planned date of entry into South Korea.

  • - If you are not a Israeli National, you have to hold residential Visa in Israel to apply for Visa through us. (Make a photocopy of your Israel visa and submit it with your application)

  • - The documents validity for visa application is 3 months only. We do not accept any documents which were issued more than 3 months before the date of your visa application has been accepted.

  • - We will be holding your passport during the visa process.

  • - The cancellation of visa will take 1 working day.

  • - We do NOT provide ANY TRACKING SERVICE(You can check your visa progress by online, please click the website https://visa.go.kr/openPage.do?MENU_ID=10301&LANG_TYPE=EN), after you submit your application. It may cause delay on your application if you try to follow up your visa process.

  • - If you plan to stay in Korea more than 90 days, you have to have a specific reason with official documents to stay in Korea to obtain a proper long-term Visa.

  • - Please type or print clearly when you fill out the Visa application form AND DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN AT THE BOTTOM.

  • - Need at least 6 months validity on the passport to apply for a visa

  • - Please email your preference time to israel@mofa.go.kr for booking your visa interview before ahead of time. 

  • - Opening hours: 9-12 on Mondays - Thursdays


[Notice for Workation Visa Holders]


○ For stay more than 91 days in the Republic of Korea, you need to apply for foreigner registration with the immigration (branch) office having jurisdiction over the place of your residence within 90 days from the date of entry into the country.


○ If you have changed your place of residence, you must report the new address to either the immigration (branch) office or Si/Gun/Gu office having jurisdiction over the new place of residence within 14 days after moving in.


○ The authorized period of stay is 1 year from the date of entry and can be extended up to 1 year. For extension of your stay, please visit a jurisdictional immigration office.


○ While staying in the Republic of Korea with a Workation visa, employment activities in the territory of the ROK are strictly restricted, and any violation of this shall result in punishments in accordance with the Immigration Act.
