Welcome to the homepage of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Kenya
Korea and Kenya have maintained very close and friendly relations since 1964 and 2014 marks the jubilee anniversary of these relations. Bilateral relations between our two countries have grown to a wider array of cooperation areas.
The year 2016 has been particularly significant in our bilateral relations. President Park Geun-hye paid a state visit to the Republic of Kenya in May. I look forward to further building upon this momentum in the various fields such as trade and investment, industry, science and technology, health, e-Government, agriculture and so on.
The 21st century has been called Africa’s century and Africa now enjoys the “African Renaissance" with good partners. Korea which is no longer Kenya’s distant neighbor is delighted to contribute towards Kenya’s Vision 2030 in the spirit of “Twende Pamoja”.
In September 2013, The Korean Studies Department was opened at the University of Nairobi, one of the most prestigious universities in East Africa. I strongly believe that the Korean studies at the University of Nairobi are a link to connecting Kenya and Korea.
The Embassy of the Republic of Korea is also accredited to Somalia.
I hope the information covered in this site will be of use to you.
