D-2 Student Visa

* Please apply for visa no more than 90 days before your scheduled departure*

* We do not make any printouts or photocopies.*

Eligibility
A student who plans to study in Korea for more than 90 days - bachelor's, master's, doctoral degree, research course, exchange program
Processing time 14 working days. NO urgent / express service
Who can submit the application
Applicant in person or by proxy.
Procedure
Walk-in submission.(9-12 or 14-16)
By appointment ONLY.
Online/Post application NOT available.
Submission & collection hours
9am-12pm, 14pm-16pm,
Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.
Submission and collection are STRICTLY not allowed after opening hours.

Visa application form(attached)
- Fill in your name as shown on the passport.
- Application will be REJECTED if there is incorrect/missing information.

One Passport-sized Picture
- White background
- taken within 6 months
- Please paste it on the visa application form(Section 1)

Original Passport
- valid at least 6 months and one blank "visa" page
- Passport must be kept at the Embassy during the screening period of your application.
Please arrange your schedule accordingly.

Photocopy of Passport
- Personal information page
- Visa for OECD member countries
- We do not make any printouts or photocopies.

Photocopy of Dutch Residence Permit - front and back( if your nationality is other than Dutch)
- Please also bring the original card.
- must be valid at the time of application
- EU citizens: As you do not have residence permit, please bring a proof of Registration with Dutch BSN number from one of the Dutch Municipalities.

Document required For Student Visa(D-2-2, D-2-3, D-2-4, D-2-6)

1. Certificate of Admission issued by Korean university(original or copy) - must include student's signature
2. Business Registration Certificate of Korean university(copy)
3. Current School Document
    ◆ For Exchange Student(D-2-6)
       - Certificate of Enrollment or Declaration of Registration issued within 3 months by Dutch School
           ⇒ Please do not bring a student's progress report nor a transcript as proof of enrollment.
    ◆ For Regular Education Program - Bachelor's, Master's, Doctoral(D2-2, D2-3, D-2-4)
        - Proof of Final Academic Record : Certificate of Graduation/Diploma issued by Dutch School
4. Proof of Financial Ability to Study in Korea
    - Dutch Bank Statements issued within 30 days
      ※ The final balance should be greater than that indicated on the question no.8.a(Student's Personal funds) of the Certificate of Admission.

▲ Additional Document for the nationals of High TB-burden countries below(Not required for Dutch):
Nepal, East Timor, Russia, Malaysia, Mongol, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, India, Indonesia, China, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Pakistan, Philippines
   - Negative Tuberculosis Test Result issued by Dutch hospital or GGD

Document Required for Researcher Course(D-2-5)

1. Business Registration Certificate of Korean university(copy)
2. Proof of Final Academic Record
    - Only those hold Master's Degree or higher can apply.
4. Proof of Financial Ability to Study in Korea(Choose one of the followings)
    - Dutch Bank Statements issued within 30 days
    - Confirmation of Payment of Studying Allowance(연구수당 지급 확인서) written by Korean university
    - Guarantee Letter(신원보증서) written by Korean university
5. Document proving that it is a specific research course
    - Confirmation of Foreign Research Student(외국인연구생 확인서) written by the president of Korean university
    ※ Invitation Letter written by a professor will not be considered.

※ Additional Info
1) Confirmed flight tickets and accommodation are NOT required for the visa application.
2) We will NOT provide any status update(s) on your application via email or phone.
3) Supporting documents submitted for visa application will NOT be returned.

※ Alien Registration Card (ARC) Obligation
- D-2 visa is available in SINGLE entry only. D-2 visa holders are required to apply for ARC at the local immigration office in Korea within 90 days of their arrival. With ARC, students may travel abroad during their stay in Korea and subsequently return to continue their studies.
- The Embassy does NOT issue or extend validity of ARC
- ARC must be returned to the immigration office or immigration officer at the departure airport or port upon final departure.
