The N Seoul Tower is located on Namsan Mountain in the center of Seoul and is one of the most recognizable tourist attractions in the city. The tower was officially opened in 1980, and it became a very popular place especially for couples. You can find a lot of love lockers in the surrounding area around the tower.
From the top of the tower, you can see the beautiful panoramic view, the entire landscape of Seoul to the West Sea beyond Incheon. The area looks very beautiful especially in the night.
Additionally, at the top of the Namsan Mountain, there are several other interesting attractions to visit, such as Palgakjeong Pavillion which is an octagonal hall, Maritime Aquarium, fountains and Namsan Library.
Namsan Park is also a historical place which served as a center of capital defense once in the past. At the time of the Joseon Dynasty (13921910) to protect the capital from invasions, there were build caste walls on four major mountains in Seoul: Bugaksan Mountain, Inwangsan Mountain, Naksan Mountain, and Namsan Mountain.
There are few ways to get to the top of Namsan Mountain. One way is to take a cable car from Hoehyeondong to the top of the mountain and then walk. Another way is to get there by bus (Namsan Circular Shuttle Bus No. 2, 3 or 5) or walk.
Even if Namsan Mountain is not as high as other neighboring mountains, it is still a very popular tourist destination with many people visiting this place every day.
