Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Nepal Tourism Board jointly hosted the Korea-Nepal Friendship Expedition Ceremony 2024 at the Radisson Hotel on April 28, 2024.

The event commemorated the unexplored routes of Jugal I (6,590m) and Jugal II (6,518m) in the Jugal Himalaya mountain range of Nepal. Gratitude was extended to the joint expedition team comprising the UM Hong Gil Human Foundation, the Korean Alpine Rescue Association, and the Nepal Mountaineering Association.

Ambassador Park Tae-young expressed appreciation for the expedition’s contribution and vowed to further enhance cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Nepal in the field of tourism. Additionally, Hon. Hit Bahadur Tamang, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation of Nepal, expressed optimism for robust growth in people to people exchange between the two countries in honor of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Through this event, the embassy eagerly makes efforts to foster even closer bonds between the Republic of Korea and Nepal, and expect to achieve greater progress and collaboration together.
