K-Wind Soul Beat in Auckland

DATE
2018-08-03

On Wednesday, 1 August, Consul General Baekwan Hong attended K-Wind Soul Beat, a Korean cultural performance organised by the Korean Consulate and Korea Foundation. This one-time-only Auckland performance showcased vibrant and colourful traditional Korean music and dance infused with energetic hip-hop and contemporary movements. 900 people filled the concert hall and enjoyed high-quality performance by Noreum Machi, Gorilla Crew and Mira Dance Company travelling all the way from Korea with support of the Korea Foundation.

On 31 July, Gorilla Crew who performed at K-Wind Soul Beat held a B-boy Workshop at Auckland University Dance studio with the support of the Korean Consulate and Korea foundation. Around 20 local B-boys and B-girls attended the workshop and learned various movements of street dance from Gorilla Crew, one of the world’s top B-boy dance groups.
