2018 NZ K-Pop Festival

The K-Pop World Festival 2018 is coming soon. You can enter the PERFORMANCE or VOCAL category as a team or individual by submitting your K-Pop video online.

The best PERFORMANCE and VOCAL entries will be judged and invited to compete in the New Zealand final round at Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington on 28 July 2018.

The Korean Embassy in Wellington will contribute to travel costs for those competitors who need to travel from outside Wellington for the NZ final round. Two finalists from the NZ finals will progress to the World Preliminary Round. If you are successful in the online World Preliminary Round, you will be invited to compete at the World Finals in Korea (between late September and early October).

1. How to Enter

a. Upload your K-Pop Performance or Vocal video to YouTube. Your video must:

- Clearly show your performance under well-lit conditions

- Record your voice distinctly

- Include tight, full shots of your performance

Please position your camera at the front and centre of your team so that your video clearly shows the overall performance and choreography.

Please do not use special effect techniques or cross-cut.

b. Send an email with the link to your YouTube entry to info-nz@mofa.go.kr

c. In your email include the category (Performance/Vocal) name, gender, date of birth, phone number (landline and mobile) e-mail address and home address, and if your entry is for a team, include these details for all team members.

d. Entries close on 28 May 2018.

2. Performance Category

a. Enter as an individual or team.

b. Maximum size of a team is eight, and should not exceed the number of members of the K-POP group you are covering. (e.g. A team covering BTS may be comprised of up to seven people.)

d. You must record your voice(s) distinctly signing to the music. If you wish, this may be recorded separately and mixed to the video that you submit for your entry.

* If your video does not include you singing, you are still allowed to participate in the NZ Final round, however you will not be eligible to progress to the World Finals (but you will still be eligible for NZ prizes). If you have submitted a video without singing and are selected at the NZ Preliminary round, and if you wish to be eligible for the World Finals, you should provide a video with you singing prior to the NZ Final. This is a special exception at the discretion of the Embassy for the New Zealand rounds only.
