Filipino talents took the stage on Saturday evening, July 27, at the 2019 Pinoy K-pop Star hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC) at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig City.
Getting the nods of the judges were the all-female cover group Mix’in and April Rose Tolentino, the grand prize winners for the performance and vocal category, respectively. The group performed K-pop girl group Iz*one’s song “Violeta.” The group also won last year’s performance category of the competition, making them back to back winners of the 2019 Pinoy K-pop Star. Tolentino, the grand prize winner of the vocal category, won the competition with her rendition of Korean singer Minseo’s “Is Who.”
The 2019 Pinoy K-pop Star is the Philippine finals for the Changwon K-pop World Festival in Korea and is part of the 70th?Anniversary of the Philippines and Korea bilateral relations.
