The Opening Ceremony for the Korea-Romania Industry Expo took place on 3rd September, at Sala Polivalentă.
The Gyeongsangbuk-do province and approximately 40 Korean companies in various fields – such as cosmetics, health products, energy, construction materials – visited Romania to take part in the Expo. Mr. Jun Woo Hun, Vice-Governor of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Mr. Jung Dong Pil, President of the Korea-Romania Exchange Association, Mr. Sorin Dimitriu, President of the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Ioan Gaf Deac, the City Manager of the District 4 Mayoralty graced the occasion with their presence.
Mr. Ambassador Kim Yong Ho mentioned, through his congratulatory speech, that the economic ties between Korea and Romania have been robust, and that Korean companies play a very important role in realizing the potential for future economic cooperation. Mr. Ambassador also hoped that the Expo serves as a momentum to expand Korean investment to Romania.
In the evening, the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the Korea-Romania Business Forum. Her Excellency, Mrs. Gabrilea Mihaela Voicila, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, welcomed Korean investment to Romania, stressing the potential of cooperation in the R&D sector, and mentioned that the Romania Government will also provide necessary information and assistance to Korean companies seeking investment opportunities in Romania.
The Korean Embassy will make greater efforts to assist Korean companies seeking to invest in Romania, and also hope that the Korea-Romania Expo and the Business Forum achieve fruitful results.
