'Korea Day', launching event for celebrating the 60th anniversary
The Embassy of Republic Korea in Sweden and the National Museums of World Culture co-hosted ‘Korea Day’, the launching event celebrating the 60-year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and Sweden on Sunday, 10th of March at Östasiatiskamuseet (Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities) and Eric Ericsonhallen.
At the event Ambassador Lee Jeong-kyu, Niklas Johansson, State Secretary to the Minister for Foreign Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden and Ann Follin, Director General of the National Museums of World Culture gave opening speeches. Ambassador Lee and Director General Ann Follin signed the cooperation agreement to facilitate the cultural exchange between the two countries and promote awareness of Korea and the Korean culture in Sweden.
The event also included various cultural activities, including Korean traditional music performance and Hanjji(traditional Korean paper) fashion performance choreographed by Karin Schmidt in cooperation with Jeonju Fashion Association and artist Lee Woo Bock. Docent tour to the Korean Gallery, a dialogue with Hanji artist WooBock Lee and Hanji Dress exhibition were also arranged during the day.
