Changes to legalization procedures with effect from 20 January 2021
With effect from 20 January 2021, the legalization function of outgoing public documents issued in Singapore and intended for use in States with legalization requirements will be transferred from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to Singapore Academy of Law (SAL). Therefore, the procedures for legalization will be as follow:

Documents issued by Singapore Government (i.e Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate...etc) | 1. Bring the document to SAL for legalization. 2. Bring the legalized document and one (1) photocopy to the Korean Embassy |
Non-government documents | 1. Bring the document to a Notary Public in Singapore for notarization. 2. Bring the notarized document to SAL for legalization. 3. Bring the legalized document and one (1) photocopy to the Korean Embassy. |
Legalization procedures before 20 January 2021 | |
Documents issued by Singapore Government (i.e Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate...etc) | 1. Bring the document to MFA for legalization. 2. Bring the legalized document and one (1) photocopy to the Korean Embassy |
Non-government documents | 1. Bring the document to a Notary Public in Singapore for notarization. 2. Bring the notarized document to SAL and MFA for legalization. 3. Bring the legalized document and one (1) photocopy to the Korean Embassy. |

▷ Cost: SGD 6 per document. Cash payment only
▷ Submission & collection hours: 9am-12.30pm (arrive latest by 12pm)
2pm-5pm (arrive latest by 4.30pm)
