On Thursday July 26th, Ambassador Kim You-Churl met with the associate Vice-President Prof. Kim Young-Gul of KAIST Global Leadership Center(GLC) at the Embassy. GLC supports KAIST students in various leadership programmes as a way of preparing them to fulfill their rolls as leaders with a global mindset. Since 2015 GLC, in collaboration with National Information Society Agency (NIA), has been sending ICT volunteer teams to Africa.
Amb. Kim extended his heartfelt gratitude to the ICT volunteer team for their valuable work in ICT education and cultural exchange activities in Uganda, expressing his wish for the extension of cooperation between prestigious Korean universities such as KAIST and Ugandan universities. He also encouraged KAIST to play a role in helping to convert the potential of Uganda into actual growth, saying that construction of information and communication infrastructure, as well as building of roads, would contribute to the growth and development of Uganda.
We at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea offer our best wishes to the students of KAIST and would like to extend our support in their pursuit of growing into talented, creative and confident leaders.
