‘The 5th World Friends Youth Mid-term Volunteer Team’, consisting of 23 university students, paid a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea on August 23rd. Volunteers for the team are selected after a thorough and careful process under the KUCSS (Korean University Council For Social Service) and the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency). The team volunteers in four cities across Uganda, including Kampala, at educational institutions, like pre-schools, elementary schools and universities, using their professional knowledge and experience in healthcare, agriculture and other various sectors.
Several staffs at the Embassy shared information with the volunteers on the local situation which would be useful for their volunteer work. The volunteer team also took that opportunity to ask questions related to overseas voluntary work and possible future careers. We at the Embassy wish the volunteers success in their efforts to accomplish their duty and hope that they continue in the spirit of togetherness and cooperation. The Embassy will do its best to fully ensure a comfortable voluntary work climate for them.
