On June 25, eleven Korean-American high school graduates were invited to the Korean Embassy who were awarded with the US Presidential Scholars. six of the students attended the ceremony during which they were awarded the Korean Honor Scholarship and received warm encouragement from their families.
Public Diplomacy Minister Joonho Cheon congratulated the students on behalf of Ambassador Yoon-je Cho for winning the highly prestigious US Presidential Scholarship, out of 3.6 million high school graduates. He said that it made him very proud to have eleven Korean-American graduates win the award this year. While presenting the scholarship to the students, Minister Cheon said “As a Korean, I ask you to grow into someone who leads US society with intelligence and pride in the future.”
