The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Honolulu hosted the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Independence Movement Commemoration on March 1st, 2019. Consul General Kang delivered Presidential message calling for national unity and new Korean peninsula regime powered by the spirit of ancestors who took the street one hundred years ago. The event also recognized the descendants of the national patriots in Hawaii and thanked for their sacrifice and contributions. In addition, there was an awarding ceremony for the student art contest commemorating the March 1st movement. The event was a great opportunity for the Korean community to get together and remember the proud history of Korea and the Korean community in Hawaii.
