Al Ittihad, an Arabic language newspaper, published contributions from the Ambassadors of ROK and UAE commemorating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Kwon introduced that our diplomatic relations have been established when H.E. Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who served as President of the UAE since the formation of the Federation and referred to as the Father of the Nation, was in office. Ambassador Kwon mentioned that the ‘special strategic partnership’ is keep developing through the ability to handle the COVID-19 crisis and the success of the cultivation of rice in desert, etc. He also presented the vision of the future cooperation in diverse sectors such as agriculture, the fourth industrial revolution technology, and education, etc.
H.E. Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to the ROK, has the positive outlook regarding the development of the bilateral relationship. Looking back on the history, Ambassador Al Nuaimi emphasized the current state of bilateral investment and trade, such as bilateral high-level consultation and construction projects, which Korean companies are involved in, such as Barakah Nuclear Power Plant and Fujairah oil storage facility.
