Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN

Ambassador Lee Jang-keun, on 26 September at the WEF Business Dialogue on ASEAN’s Digital Economy 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, delivered remarks noting that this dialogue is part of the ‘ASEAN DEAL’ (ASEAN Digital Economy Agreement Leadership) project, proudly supported by Korea through the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF). The project aims to help ASEAN realize its digital potential, particularly through the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA)—the world’s first region-wide binding digital economy treaty to be concluded this year.

As ASEAN’s Comprehensive Strategic Partner, Korea stands ready to support DEFA’s success with its digital technologies and innovative ecosystem.
