Ambassador Kim Wan-joong undertook an official visit to #NSW at the invitation of the NSW Government from 16 to 17 August 2023.

During the visit, Kim paid courtesy calls and had meetings with key NSW government and political figures, including H.E. the Hon Margaret Beazley, Governor of New South Wales, the Hon Andrew Bell, Chief Justice of NSW, the Hon Ben Franklin, President of the Legislative Council, the Hon Greg Piper MP, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong, Minister for Industry and Trade, the Hon Mark Speakman, Leader of the Opposition in NSW, and Joseph La Posta, CEO of Multicultural NSW

The meetings provided valuable opportunities to exchange views on bilateral issues as well as to discuss ways to strengthen Korea-NSW relations. Ambassador Kim noted a high level of cooperation in resources, infrastructure, and energy sectors between Korean businesses and #NSW, highlighted contributions that Korean businesses and communities make to the local economy and diversity of the state, and asked for their continued interest in and support for #Korean communities in #NSW.
