----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) a valid visa

▶ All international travellers need a valid visa to enter Korea, thus are required to make a necessary visa arrangement before travel.

(either K-ETA(online) for eligible passport holders or appropriate visa through the Embassy/Consulate(offline) for those who are ineligible for K-ETA)

▶ Temporary exemption from K-ETA for Australian Passport holders is in place from 1.APR.2023 to 31.DEC.2024. (Australian passport holders can travel to Korea without K-ETA during these periods)

Korea has introduced the K-ETA(Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) and

Australian ordinary passport holders who wish to travel to Korea for short term(up to 90 days) can now travel to Korea without K-ETA until 31/DEC/2024. will now need to apply for K-ETA before travel.

* visa on arrival is NO LONGER available for Australian ordinary passport holders.

* Travellers with Australian official/diplomatic passport or a valid ABTC card do NOT need K-ETA when visiting Korea for 90 days or less.

With K-ETA, travellers can visit family or friends/have a holiday/undertake certain business related activities/etc. (K-ETA will allow travellers to do C-3 visa category activities, including C-3-1 Short-term visit, C-3-4 Temporary business and C-3-9 Tourism.)

Please visit the official K-ETA webpage below to apply or to find out eligible passports.

Please be alerted that there are unofficial webpages which charge extra fees.

Thus, please always make it sure that you use the official webpage run by the Korean government.

Those who hold an Australian official/diplomatic passport and are travelling to Korea on a short term(up to 90 days) official/diplomatic visit can just travel to Korea with the passport. (K-ETA is NOT required.)

* Those who are posted to Korea/to be stationed in Korea for 91 days or longer will, however, still have to apply for a A-1 diplomatic or A-2 official visa through the Korean Embassy/Consulate.
