E-2 Visa (Foreign Language Instructor)
1. Eligible Applicants
- A foreign language instructor at a foreign language academy
- An elementary, middle, and high school teacher selected by the head of a local district school board or the Minister of the Education, Science and Technology
2. Required Documents
(1) If you obtained a Confirmation of Visa Issuance Number(Visa Inssuance Confirmation) from Korea, you are required to submit the following documents to the Embassy or the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea.
- A completed and signed visa application form (please download and complete the application form '(Visa Issuance Confirmation Holder Only) Application for Visa (updated on 12.Jun.2018).' found above.)
* One colour photograph taken within the last 6 months to be attached to the form
Size : 3.5cm x 4.5cm
White or off-white background
- Original passport (must have at least 6 months validity left)
- Visa application fee (Please see the attached)
* Payment method: Money order issued by Australia Post (Payee: Consulate General in Melbourne) OR in Cash
- A self-addressed prepaid express post platinum envelope from the post office for return of your passport (Optional)
* Please note that the Consulate General in Melbourne strongly advises all applicants to receive the passport by using a safer delivery option which offers both tracking and signature on delivery (like Express Post Platinum), in order to minimise the possibility of loss.
* Also, all applicants are advised to take a note of the tracking numbers for future reference.
(2) If you have signed a contract with the Minister of Education, Science and Technology or the head of a district school board and want to teach at an elementary, middle, and high school as a foreign language teaching assistant, you require to submit the following documents.
- A completed and signed visa application form (Please find the attached)
* One colour photograph taken within the last 6 months to be attached to the form

- Original passport (must have at least 6 months validity left)
- Visa application fee (Please find the attached)
* Payment method: Money order issued by Australia Post (Payee: Consulate General in Melbourne) OR in Cash
- Your current Australian visa
* Visa status from Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) or Visa Grant Notification Letter received by e-mail from the Department of Home Affairs (https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/)
* A letter from your school confirming your enrolment details if you are on a student visa (The letter must be signed by enrolment officer at your school)
* A letter signed by an employer confirming your employment if you are working in Australia
- Notice of Appointment for EPIK or an acceptance letter for TaLK scholars
- Employment contract with the head of a school district school board
- A self-addressed prepaid express post platinum envelope from the post office for return of your passport (Optional)

3. Visa processing time: Approximately 10 working days
