Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan

Ambassador Kim Tong Op participated at the opening ceremony of the Korean Corner at the Azerbaijan University of Languages on 20 December 2019.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Kim said that as there is a saying 'Well begun is half done’, the opening ceremony would contribute to the development of relations between Korea and Azerbaijan in long term. He also asked students, who are learning Korean language to work hard with the motivation that the future of bilateral relations depends on them.

Vice-rector of the University, Ms. Jala Garibova drew attention to the fact that, after the collapse of the USSR, the Korean language faculty was the first foreign language faculty added to the 3 major foreign language faculties at the AUL. That was the reason why she had great love and interest for Korean culture.

Expressing her gratitude for this opportunity provided by the Korean Foundation and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, she added that through the opening of Korean Corner at the university, it was expected to attract more students to learn Korean culture and language

The opening ceremony of the Korean Corner was attended by around 50 people, including vice-rector Garibova, professors and students of AUL.
