Amb. Park Young-sik attended the Opening Ceremony of the new Traffic Management Center (TMC) of the Roads and Highways Department(RHD) on August 20 (Wed).

Dhaka, the capital, is home to about 24 million people, suffering from chronic traffic congestion and high accident rates due to the growing number of vehicles and weak road conditions. The newly established traffic management center is expected to greatly increase the safety and convenience of road users in the metropolitan area by monitoring traffic conditions in real time based on the **Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)** and contributing to accident prevention and congestion mitigation.

This project is an example of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) working with the Bangladesh Road Authority along with the Korea Expressway Corporation, the Korea Transportation Research Institute, and private companies to establish a system tailored to local conditions, and we hope that this will further strengthen infrastructure cooperation between the two countries.
