For Korean adoptees, Korean nationality is lost upon adoption, and a Certified Copy of Archived Family Register (Jejok Deungbon/제적 등본) serves as the equivalent of a birth certificate.

*** Please note that if you would also like to restore your Korean nationality or apply for an F-4 visa (Overseas Korean Visa), obtaining a Jejok Deungbon is the first necessary step.

Steps to Obtain a Certified Copy of Archived Family Register (Jejok Deungbon/제적 등본):

• 1. Request an Adoption Certificate(입양확인서)

• Contact National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC) and request a recent adoption certificate in the new format : familysearch@ncrc.or.kr

• 2. Consular Section Visit

• Make an appointment with the consular section and bring the following documents:

• - Recent adoption certificate(입양확인서) in the new format issued by National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC)

• - Belgian Court ruling indicating the change from your Korean name to your current name

• - Adoption records

• - Original passport

• - Processing fee of €0.90 (in cash or with a Bancontact debit card)

※ The certificate (Jejok Deungbon/Family Register) is issued in Korean. For submission to a Belgian municipality, for example, please contact the Swon Translator listed in the attached document for a certified translation service if needed.

Pour les adoptés coréens, la nationalité coréenne est perdue lors de l’adoption, et une copie certifiée conforme du registre familial archivé (Jejok Deungbon / 제적 등본) fait office d’acte de naissance. 

*** Veuillez noter que si vous souhaitez également rétablir votre nationalité coréenne ou demander un visa F-4 (visa pour les Coréens de l’étranger), l’obtention d’un Jejok Deungbon constitue la première étape indispensable. 2. Visite à la section consulaire 

Prenez rendez-vous auprès de la section consulaire et apportez les documents suivants :

• - Certificat d’adoption récent (입양확인서) dans le nouveau format, délivré par le National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC)

• - Décision du tribunal belge indiquant le changement de votre nom coréen vers votre nom actuel

• - Documents relatifs à l’adoption

• - Passeport original

• - Frais de traitement de 0,90 € (en espèces ou par carte de débit Bancontact)

• ※ Le certificat (Jejok Deungbon / registre familial) est délivré en coréen. Pour une soumission auprès d’une commune belge, par exemple, veuillez contacter le traducteur juré Swon mentionné dans le document joint pour une traduction certifiée conforme si nécessaire.

Voor Koreaanse geadopteerden gaat de Koreaanse nationaliteit verloren bij adoptie, en een gecertificeerd afschrift van het gearchiveerde familieregister (Jejok Deungbon / 제적 등본) geldt als het equivalent van een geboorteakte.

*** Let op: indien u tevens uw Koreaanse nationaliteit wenst te herstellen of een F-4 visum (visum voor overzeese Koreanen) wilt aanvragen, is het verkrijgen van een Jejok Deungbon de eerste noodzakelijke stap.

Stappen om een gecertificeerd afschrift van het gearchiveerde familieregister (Jejok Deungbon / 제적 등본) te verkrijgen:

1. Aanvraag van een adoptiecertificaat (입양확인서) Neem contact op met het National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC) en vraag een recent adoptiecertificaat in het nieuwe formaat aan: familysearch@ncrc.or.kr

2. Bezoek aan de consulaire afdeling

Maak een afspraak bij de consulaire afdeling en breng de volgende documenten mee:

• - Recent adoptiecertificaat (입양확인서) in het nieuwe formaat, uitgegeven door het National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC)

• - Belgische rechtbankuitspraak waaruit de naamswijziging van uw Koreaanse naam naar uw huidige naam blijkt

• - Adoptiedocumenten

• - Origineel paspoort

• - Behandelingskost van € 0,90 (contant of met Bancontact-debetkaart)

• ※ Het certificaat (Jejok Deungbon / familieregister) wordt in het Koreaans afgegeven. Voor indiening bij bijvoorbeeld een Belgische gemeente kunt u, indien nodig, contact opnemen met de in het bijgevoegde document vermelde beëdigd vertaler Swon voor een beëdigde vertaling.
