*** Belgian students leaving for Korea as an exchange student need to apply for a student visa (D-2-6) / visiting student (D-2-8) before entering Korea. Please find required documents below :
o D-2-6 Visa(Exchange student) / D-2-8 (Visiting student) * student who will study at an accredited university
1) Visa application form (see attached), passport, one profile photo (passport standard-sized).
2) Admission letter from the host university (Only "Standard Acceptance Letter of Admission (표준입학허가서)" format is accepted)
3) a copy of the business registration certificate (사업자등록증) of host university
4) Visa issuance fee by cash or Bancontact® (54 euro, German/Italian/Spanish nationals→ Free).
-All documents can be submitted in a photocopy version (PDF printed) except the passport -
* If you study at a university not listed above you also need to provide extra documents as below :
a) a document proving your financial resource for living expenses in Korea (a minimum of 3,500 euros)
b) Recommendation/Invitation letter issued by the head of your home university
c) a document proving that you are an exchange/visiting student (official letter from host university, student exchange agreement between your home and host university, and a certificate of enrollment in your home university)
※ All student visas are single-entry visas. Therefore, if you enter South Korea with either of these student visas, you must remain in the country until your Alien Registration Card (ARC) is approved by the Immigration Office; otherwise, your visa will be automatically cancelled. If you have any questions about your stay, please contact your host university.
※If you have dual citizenship, you must apply for a visa using the passport of the country specified in the Standard Acceptance Letter of Admission. Otherwise, your visa application will not be accepted.
※ If you are a foreign national holding a Belgian residence permit and your permit is set to expire before your return to Belgium from Korea, you must submit official proof of your residence permit extension in order to complete your visa application. Please ensure this document is provided to avoid delays or issues with your application process.
※ The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.
