Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union and Permanent Mission to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization

The Overseas Korean Agency(OKA) is slated to host the '2023 Overseas Korean Adoptees Gathering' by cordially inviting overseas Korean adoptees to Korea.

Objectives

o Allowing the participants certainly to have a great chance of feeling more connected to the motherland while fully engaging in a number of hands-on programs, such as talk-show and info-session on the forthcoming services being provided by the OKA as well as on the ethnic identity as a Korean

o Enabling the invited participants to have a window of opportunities to get experienced a myriad of Korean culture along with the better understanding on the Korea

o Offering the participants to establish productive network while fully having and active association with other participants from all around the world. 

Overview

1. Duration: December 11(Mon)~14(Thurs), 2023 

               (Arrival Date: Dec 10) 

2. Location: Seoul (Grand Hyatt Hotel)

3. Number of Participants: 120 persons

※ Each participant can be accompanied by 1 person(Participant’s Children, Adoptive Parents or Legal Spouse) 

   100% coverage of round-trip airfare and accomodation

4.Programs: Opening events and banquets, Talk-concert, Info-session, Mentoring, Cultural experience & visiting historical sites, etc.

Application

1. Eligibility: Overseas Korean adoptees over the age of 18 

2. Preferential participants

- Those who have never visited Korea before, also applicable the accompanying person

- Those who have no experience in participating in any programs organized by Overseas Korean Foundation (OKF) incl. other organizations and/or entities

3. Application Procedure 

o Application Period

- Deadline: by October 16(Mon.), 18:00(KST)

- Selection Announcement: On or about November 3(Fri.), 2023

<1st Phase>

o Fill out the attached forms (Appendix 1~5), email them to the following emails:

o Fill out some info. on the Google Form as shown on the below link:

<2nd Phase>

o Original files emailed shall be turned in to the Korean Embassy in Brussels, Consular section in a duly manner by October 19(Thursday).

o Results will be announced to selected participants individually and to diplomatic offices

4. Selection Procedure 

o Reviewing the documents by the Republic of Korea Diplomatic Office (Mid Oct)

o OKA Deliberative Committee is to determine the selected participants (Early Nov.)

o Selection Announcement for participants (Early Nov)

※ Preferential Treatment for the Selection Process

- No experience in participating in any similar invitation programs to Korea having been organized by either Overseas Korean Foundation or any other organization and or entities

- For those not having a previous experience in visiting Korea for both the applicant or an accompanying person
