Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Negara Brunei Darussalam

The Korean Festival 2019 was held from 13 to 15 September 2019 at Times Square Brunei by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Brunei Darussalam in cooperation with Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the Times Square, as well as a special performance at JIS Arts Centre.

A lot of Bruneians visited and enjoyed the Festival with their family. People participated in the many fun and interesting activities and programs at the Festival, which introduced various Korean cultures: There was a cultural performance, a K-Food cooking class, a “try-on a Hanbok (Korean traditional attire) and take a selfie” section, a Taekwondo demonstration, K-Beauty styling, painting Korean traditional masks and pendants as well as writing names in Korean calligraphy.

The stalls at the Times Square Atrium allocated for Korea Tourism, Korean products, food and K-Pop were continuously crowded by many visitors throughout the Festival.

On Saturday evening at the JIS Art Centre, ‘Jin Myung’, a Korean percussion group, performed their beautiful percussion sounds in a powerful and dynamic way and was the highlight of the Festival.

The Korean Festival 2019 introduced more Bruneian people to the traditional cultures and latest trends of Korea, contributing to the enhancement of the mutual understanding and strength of friendship between Korea and Brunei.

The Embassy thanks Bruneian people who visited the Festival. The Embassy also extends its appreciation to all participating organizations and companies as well as the members of Korean Culture Club (KCC) in Brunei for volunteering and for their wonderful performances which were acclaimed by the audience. The Embassy looks forward to seeing all of you again next year.
