On October 4, the Defence Attaché Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Canada hosted a reenactment of the historic Imjin Hockey Classic at Bell Sensplex in Kanata. This game honored the sacrifice of Korean War veterans and celebrated the strong friendship and camaraderie between Korea and Canada. In the Friendly Game, the Lameduck Team—composed of foreign defence attachés—played against the Canadian Parliamentary Hockey Team, followed by the Legendary Game recreating the 1952 final between PPCLI and R22eR. Distinguished guests included Chargé d’Affaires Ahn, Young-ki, Defence Attaché Col. Dongwon Lee, Senator Martin, Senator Patterson, and General Abboud, along with seven Korean War veterans. Notably, Mr. Dennis Moore, who played in the original 1952 Imjin Game, traveled from North Bay to attend, inspiring both players and spectators. The reenactment was a meaningful moment to reaffirm the enduring bond and friendship that began during the Korean War and continues to unite our two nations today.
