Join us in Toronto, as the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto brings you the finale of Korea Week 2021 with Korea Music Week. The weeklong celebration of Korean music will host nightly live DJ/Radio broadcast of Korean music; a KPOP Cover Dance Competition and a many more musical events.

From November 15, 2021 to November 20, 2021; tune into the musically cultural exploration of Korea as we end with 2021’s final KPOP Dance Competition, with LIVE performances, back-on-stage.

The event following events will take nightly at 7PM EST both on ZOOM and Twitch Music Streams for everyone to join us in celebrating everything about Korean music.

Event 1: Korean Music Night with M.C. Joony (11.15-11.20)

Join M.C. Joony as he invites special guests from Toronto who are lovers of Korean music, Kpop, K-Dance and more. Nightly at 7PM, join our broadcast starting Nov 15th at 7PM. 

Event 2: RPD in the GTAA (11.17)

Join us virtually with the dancers of Toronto LIVE at Quest A/V’s virtual studio. We will be hosting a LIVE Random Play Dance for everyone and anyone to join with their webcams as we close of 2021 with the biggest Online + Offline RPD event.

Event 3: K-POP Dance Cover Competition Come: Back ON Stage (11.20)

The Grand finale of 2021’s Korea Week and KPOP in Ontario. We invite all dancers to shrug off COVID-19’s virtual cages and perform LIVE on stage. The selected finalists of the Cover Dance Competition will be able to face off each other to be the winners of the 5 grand prizes + the KTO People’s Choice Award. Join us as we watch the LIVE performances of the KPOP finalists to receive the Back ON Stage winner. For full details on the how to join and watch, sign up to our Eventbrite page!

1. Contestant Eligibility and Requirements

■ The participating individual or at least one member of the group entering the competition must be both Canadian nationals and Residents of Ontario or Manitoba or other Canadian territories. *

■ Contestants can perform as SOLOists or GROUPs of maximum ten (10) contestants per applying team.

■ All contestants must be between the age of 12 – 30 years of age (as of Dec 31, 2021).

*If the eligible applicant(s) has relocated reasons due to COVID-19, exceptions can be made at the discretion of the organizing committee; please inquire.

2. Application

※ All contestants must submit personal information disclosure consent signed by each contestant along with the application via Google form.

- Contestants shall agree their videos of performances to be broadcasted and to be posted on social media channels. (Video will only be used to promote the event on social media if and when necessary)

- Parent/Guardian Consent required for contestants born after Nov 12, 2003.

- Forms can be downloaded via attachment files of this guideline

3. Competition Guidelines and Participation Requirements

■ Contestant team must upload one (1) YouTube video links via Google form 

The video must be a dance cover performance of at least 2 minutes in length:

[Performance] A video link of a cover dance done by the participating soloist or group.

※ Video Quality to be set to minimum of 720p Standard HD.

※ Contestants must be able to perform live on Nov 17/5PM (rehearsal) EST, Nov 20/7PM

4. Schedules

■ Submission Deadline: Nov 12, 2021 11:59 pm EST

■ Finalist Announcement: Nov 15, 2021 7:00 pm EST

■ Mandatory Rehearsal Finalists: Nov 17, 2021 5 pm EST

■ Finale LIVE Competition: Nov 20, 2021 7 pm EST

- Details for joining the Zoom& Twitch Streams will be sent after Nov 12 to those who registered through eventbrite.ca  

5. Evaluation Criteria

■ Choreography, composition, uniformity 20%

■ Technique 20%

■ Expression 30%

■ Stage Charisma 30%

6. Prize

■ 1st Place: C$1,000

■ 2nd Place: C$800

■ 3rd Place: C$600

■ 4th Place: C$400

■ 5th Place: C$200

■ People’s Choice Award (Special Prize sponsored by KTO (Korea Tourism Organization)): C$500

※ After the result has been announced, short interviews will be conducted with the 1st place winner and the People’s Choice Award winner. Thus, the leader of each contestant team must be present at the Zoom event.
