Notice of warning regards to private websites imitating K-ETA application

DATE
2022-05-25

Recently, a Korean resident who is planning to visit Korea has filed a complaint regarding the application for an "electronic travel permit."

In order to apply for an e-travel permit, he searched for "South Korea ETA" in the Google search box on the Internet and accessed the first link on the search engine.

He entered personal information, and submitted the application, but later found out that it was not an official site run by the Korean government.

This scam caused him financial damage, where the application cost was 10 times higher than the official K-ETA, but above all he was worried about the leakage of personal information.

The K-ETA application site operated by the Korean government (Ministry of Justice) is as follows.

www.k-eta.go.kr  (* Please check the "go.kr").

The official site posted the following notice related to applying for an official e-travel permit
