[C-3-9] SHORT-TERM VISITOR (TOURISM) ※ Starting from June 1st, 2022 


Before you apply for a visa, please read "General Information of Visa Guideline" first. After you read this page, click the visa category which you are applying for and prepare the required documents.

 Eligible Applicant


A person who plans to visit Korea on the purpose of travel for holidays or leisure

※ Please note that applicants from certain countries who are presently in Canada (ex: temporary workers, international students etc.) must have been residing in Canada for at least 2 years (730 days) continuously when submitting a visa application. 

 Accordingly, those who have a valid (not expired) *multiple visa* issued before April 5, 2020, can enter the Republic of Korea with that visa again from the 1st of June.

 Visa Information


▷Period of Stay: Up to 90 days

▷Validation of Visa: 3 months from the date of issue

▷Entry: Single Entry

▷Visa Fee: $54 CAD (Cash or Money Order), for certain countries' visa fees are vary.

▷Processing Time: approximately 14 business days


 Required Documents



1. Visa Application form (File #1)

    - Section 1.7 National Identity Number: SIN #

    - Section 2.2 Visa Code: Your visa category you are applying for

    - If the applicant is under 17 years of age, both parents or the legal guardian must put their name and signature.


  •     2. Passport (Original and Photocopy, must be valid more than 6 months)


 3. A Passport-type Colour photo (white background, 3.5 x 4.5cm, date stamped taken with 6 months at the back)


  •     4. If you are not Canadian, please submit your Valid Canadian Visa (PR Card, Work/Study Permit)


  •     -PR Card (original & photocopy front and back), Work/Study Permit (original & photocopy)  

        ※ PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT FOR NON-CANADIANS TO APPLY FOR TOURISM VISA, THOSE OF THE FOLLOWING

  •      NATIONALITY: CHINA, PHILIPPINES, INDONESIA, BANGLADESH, VIETNAM, MONGOL, THAILAND, PAKISTAN, SRI LANKA, 

  •      INDIA, MYANMAR, NEPAL, IRAN, UZBEKISTAN, KAZAKHSTAN, KRYGYZSTAN, UKRAINE, NIGERIA, GHANA, EGYPT, 

  •      PERU SHOULD BE A RESIDENT OF CANADA FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS AND WILL BE ASKED TO SUBMIT GOVERNMENT

  •      ISSUED DOCUMENTATION TO PROVE. 


  •     5. Employment Verification Letter or School Enrollment Letter

  •    

  •      a. Student : Proof of enrollment / Certificate of registration from school

  b. Employee : A signed and stamped no-objection letter from the company which clarifies the applicant's  purpose of visit to 

  Korea along with the applicant’s full name, nationality, passport number, position, salary, working period etc. Do not also forget       to include the name, position and contact information of the authorized signatory on this letter for verification purposes. 

  (issued within recent 1 month)


  •      c. Self-employed : Business permit/business registration certificate from Canadian Government

  •      d. Unemployed: Resume

  •     

  •     

  •     6. Detailed travel plan (File #2 example)

     -This must include the purpose of the visit and a brief schedule, specifying location and length of stay. (The date, applicant’s

     name and signature should be stated at the bottom)

  •         -Please do break down the days and put your activity plans in Korea. 


  •     7. Hotel or accommodation reservation paper

  •        -If you stay at the place of your family or friend, please submit a signed letter from the host including the below information.

  •          a. Visa applicant information(name, date of birth, passport number)

  •          b. Host information (name, date of birth, passport number/ARC number/Korea Identification number, contact number) and 

  •             a copy of ID.

  •          c. Relationship to the visa applicant

  •          d. Address and period of the stay


  •     8. Flight itinerary issued by a travel agency or airline

  •      -We recommend you to plan to travel more than 15 business days from the date of submission of your complete application. 

  •         Please ensure that you either have tickets or submit your flight reservation paper which you can re-book. 

  •        Online captured flight schedule is  not acceptable.  The Consulate is not responsible for costs associated with your flight rescheduling. 


  •     9. Previous 3 months bank statement

    -The applicant’s name must be clearly shown on the bank statement with certified bank stamp on it.

  •        - In case of submitting sponsor(parents or spouse/common in law only)’s bank statement instead, below documents are

  •            required.

  •              a. Financial Support/Sponsorship letter


  •              b. Copy of the sponsor’s ID or passport

         c . Bank Statement (3 months with stamp)                 

         d. Proof of relationship (marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc)


  •    10. Invitation letter or letter of personal reference (if applicable)


  •    11. Visa Fee: $54 (CASH OR MONEY ORDER(PAY TO THE ORDER-KOREAN CONSULATE GENERAL))

  •      ※ For certain countries' visa fees are vary. 

  •          -Iran, Uzbekistan, Krygyz Republic, Azerbaijan, Senegal, Ghana, Russia, Tajikistan: $67.50CAD single entry

  •          -Vietnam: $27 CAD Single entry 

  •          -Philippines: Visa fee is excepted for stay of no more than 59 days (Temporary commercial or tourism purposes)  


 Additional Visa Notes


※ Please refer to each visa category you’re applying for to verify the required documents for your visa category. 


※ If you already received a visa, but never used before and have a remaining validity date, you cannot resubmit your visa application. 


※ Please note that additional documents may be requested upon Consul’s review


※ All Visa applicants must be physically present within our jurisdictions (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, and Northwest Territories) at the time of application. It is unlawful to ship your passport overseas. 


※ The head of Korean diplomatic missions abroad may request for additional documents depending on the condition of the country of residence/jurisdiction if it is deemed necessary for visa evaluation.


※ After your visa has been submitted, all submitted supporting documents will not be returned back to the applicant except your original passport, PR Card, Visa Permits. During the visa process, you may cancel your visa but, we do not return your submitted documents and visa fee.
