  PLEASE contact us at least 2~3months before the departure due to the high increase of applications after reading carefully all the related information as below:

* Regarding the required documents, please check the information related to your purpose on Visa Issuance page.

※ A person who has lost the nationality of the Republic of Korea (except persons who have reported the abandonment of nationality under Article 14) shall report the loss of nationality to the Minister of Justice(국적상실신고). Without this procedure, it's NOT possible to issue a visa. And if you're a dual citizen at birth including Korean nationality, it's mandatory to enter the country only with Korean passport.

1. Visa application is ONLY available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings(9:00~11:30). 

2. Please make an appointment in advance either by phone or by email.

3. Valid Swiss Residence permit is required for Non-Swiss national.

◆ If you have a citizenship of the designated countries as below without a Swiss residence permit or have stayed for less than 1 years: 

Please apply for a visa to the Korean Embassy or Consulate in your home country according to the policy.

4. You can apply for it 1 or 2 months before your departure because of the visa validity(3 months). So please contact us in advance. 

Only if your purpose is urgent or essential not to change the schedule for attending a funeral, official duty or business trip, we can consider an exceptional appointment.

Just for the reason you have non-refundable or non-changeable flight ticket, we don't accept any exceptional case.

* If the applicant applies for visa too early before the scheduled travel date and is required to reapply for visa, the applicant is required to prepare a fresh set of documents and make payment for the new application. We will not refund the payment for the first application. 

5. Passport must be valid over 6 months.

6. NO EXPRESS VISA SERVICE nor Postal/Online application. Apply only in person through a travel agency, by the applicant itself or by someone else.

7. It takes 2 weeks (10 working days) to issue a visa.

8. Consular office is situated only in Bern NOT in Geneva.

9.The Republic of Korea immigration system does not require visa labels to be affixed to a page in an applicant’s passport anymore. So applicants can print out the Visa Grant Notice on the official website at www.visa.go.kr

10. Because of the reason above, the Embassy doesn't keep the original passport during the visa process. You can get it back on the spot when you apply for a visa.

11. All the details of documents can be confirmed just on the spot. NOT beforehand.

12. The embassy doesn't let you know the updated information personally. Please check the updated information again on Travel Notice before boarding.

13. There are some kind of visas that cannot be issued directly at the discretion of Consulate(e.g. long-term work visa over 90-days stay), In this case, you have to submit number of confirmation of Visa Issuance(VIN) issued by immigration regional office in Korea.

14. Documents issued in another country should be attached with Apostille or translated and notarized in one language among English, German or French. In addition, it's necessary to submit Original documents. 

15. Visa fee can be paid only in cash.

* The person in charge may ask you to submit additional documents.

* The Consulate is unable to guarantee the processing time or Visa approval over the phone.
