2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Graduate Degrees
In 2026, the Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program aims to invite international students who wish to pursue a graduate-level degree or research in Korea.
Please find enclosed information on 2026 Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) for Graduates, which is administered by the Korean National Institute for International Education (NIIED), Ministry of Education.
Anyone who wishes to apply for this program is advised to read the attached application guidelines carefully, including all required documents.

To be selected as a GKS grantee, applicants must successfully pass the 1st selection process conducted by the Korean Embassy of their country of origin. Only successful candidates will proceed to the interview and final submission stage.

12 February 2026 : Application Period Opens
25 February 2026 (18:00 KST) : Deadline for Online Application Submission
6 March 2026 : Announcement of successful candidates for the interview (via email)
11 March 2026 : Interview (in person; date may be subject to change)
16 March 2026 : Announcement of 1st round successful candidates (via email)
23 March 2026 : Deadline for Physical Submission for Selected Candidates*
*Selected candidates must submit two complete sets of documents – one original and one photocopy – to the Embassy.
[Application Method]
Digital submission only: Beginning this year, all applications must be submitted online through the Study in Korea website no later than 18:00 KST, 25 February 2026.
Physical submission: Required only for selected candidates after passing the Embassy Track.
Steps:
- Create a membership account on the Study in Korea website
- Fill out the online application form and upload all required documents.
- Only selected candidates will bring or send the original documents to the Embassy.
