Job opening: General Assistant 


The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Algiers is inviting applications for a full-time administrative assistant position. The successful applicant is expected to begin their work in September of 2024.


1. Position: General Assistant


2. Salary: To be confirmed after the interview process.


3. Job Description (Detailed descriptions to be confirmed after the selection)


- Research on political / economic and other social affairs, as required

- Keep in contact with related organizations including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Algeria

- Translate and interpret between Arabic, French, and English, as required

- Organize official activities

- Other Embassy priorities, as required


4. Qualifications / Selection Criteria


- Legal status to work in Algeria (if applicable, completion of mandatory military service)

- Working experience with a similar work portfolio is preferred

- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision in an intercultural environment

- Timeliness in response to tasking and capacity to prioritize competing work demands within working hours to meet deadlines.

Native level of communication skill in French and Arabic

- Professional level of communication skill in English


5. Application Process


i) Deadline: July 27th 2024 11:59 PM (Algerian Standard Time. Late submissions will not be considered in any circumstances) 


ii) The following documents should be merged into 1(one) PDF file, and sent to koemal@mofa.go.kr with the subject line of “Application for the General Assistant(Your Name)”:


  1) Application form (Should be written in English)

- Applicants should fill the form(.doc file) attached to this announcement.

The form should be signed by the applicant


2) Additional documents

- All the references for the résumé, including degrees, language certificates, employment certificates and/or any other documents, if applicable.

- Recommendation letters (letters of references) upon their discretion. An applicant submitting the letters should provide contact information of the recommenders.

- If applicable, all additional documents should be presented with translated copies in English or French.


N.B.) Applications lack of documents above could be regarded as ineligible for the further process. (The Embassy will consider ‘receipts’ for applying those documents as invalid.)


iii) Applicants selected for an assessment test and interview will be contacted no later than August 15th 2024. The Embassy will not make further contacts to the applicants who are deemed to be ineligible for further consideration. 


iv) The interview is expected to be held in August.


v) Any application that does not meet any forementioned conditions will NOT be considered in any circumstances, and any descriptions for which references are not provided can be deemed invalid in the evaluation process.


Please note that the Embassy will NOT take any inquiries on which this notice has informed, including those on whether an applicant has passed/failed in the procedure.
