Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul Meets Korean Entrepreneurs and Young Generation in Melbourne on April 30 ​

- Ministry of Foreign Affairs continuing efforts to lower barriers through direct communication -



Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul, who visited Australia to attend the sixth ROK-Australia Foreign and Defense Ministers’ (2+2) Meeting, held a “Meeting with Businesspeople” with Korean entrepreneurs in Melbourne on Tuesday, April 30, and also had a “Dialogue with the Young Generation” for Korean students studying in Australia and participants of working holiday programs.





During the meeting with businesspeople, Minister Cho said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will spare no effort in providing necessary support to Korean businesses for expanding exports and order intake as well as advancing into overseas markets while minimizing the negative impacts of the rapidly changing external environments.



The Korean businesspeople who attended the event shared their opinions and suggestions regarding the opportunities and challenges presented by business activities in Australia. In response, Minister Cho, stating that the doors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions are always open, emphasized that the opinions of the businesspeople expressed during this meeting will be well reflected in policies, and the Foreign Ministry will continue to actively work to help the Korean companies enter overseas markets and address their challenges.



Meanwhile, Minister Cho mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively pursuing youth policies, including support for overseas ventures, to back young people in their challenges and passions. He highly praised the courage and ambitious spirit of the youth venturing abroad.



 Korean students studying in Australia and participants of working holiday programs who attended the event expressed their delight that the dialogue with the Foreign Minister was held in Melbourne for the first time. They also said that despite the many challenges of living abroad, they felt reassured and closer to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions through direct communication at this event. They conveyed gratitude for Minister Cho’s encouragement and support, saying that they consider his words as sincere advice from a senior in life.
