The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the agreement reached on October 8 between Israel and Hamas on the first phase of U.S. President Trump's Peace Plan, and highly appreciates U.S. President Trump's initiative proposal and the mediation efforts of the neighboring countries including Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye in achieving this agreement.

The Government of the Republic of Korea hopes that through the parties' full implementation of the agreement, all hostages will be released and the humanitarian situation in Gaza will be improved immediately, and that this agreement will serve as a critical turning point for the restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East.

The Government of the Republic of Korea will continue to actively engage in the international community's efforts to promote peace in the Middle East, including the implementation of the two-state solution.
