1. The ROK government supports the U.S. decision to send Special Representative for North Korea Policy 
Stephen W. Bosworth to North Korea to facilitate an early resumption of the Six-party Talks and secure 
North Korea’s reaffirmation of its commitments to denuclearization, stipulated in the September 2005 
Joint Statement.

2. The ROK government hopes that the upcoming bilateral talks between the U.S. and North Korea will 
lead to North Korea's prompt return to the Six-party Talks and contribute positively to resolving the North 
Korean nuclear issue.

3. The Republic of Korea and the U.S. have consulted closely in the course of pursuing U.S.-North Korea 
dialogue, and will maintain strong cooperation to make substantive progress on the North Korean 
nuclear issue. /END/
