1. The Government of the Republic of Korea welcomes the launch of the new National Consensus Government of Yemen led by Prime Minister Basindwah on December 10 and commends it as a significant step toward a peaceful transition of power.

2. The Government of the Republic of Korea expects the new Government of Yemen to successfully undertake the mediation initiative and implementation mechanism of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and thereby achieve political stability, and national reconciliation and development as soon as possible. The ROK government also expects all the parties concerned in Yemen to make continued efforts to this end.
