1. The Government of the Republic of Korea notified of the Government of the Philippines that it is ready to provide emergency humanitarian relief for the damage to human lives and property caused by a tropical downpour that hit the Mindanao Island south of the Philippines in the late hours of December 16, 2011.

※ According to press reports, the heavy rain has left more than 650 people dead and over 800 missing as of December 19.

2.  As it is understood that people in the damaged area are in urgent need of food, blankets, water, and clothes, the ROK government plans to send relief supplies to the Philippines as soon as it concludes its consultation with the Filipino government on the specific lists of relief items and means of delivery.
