1. In view of the improving security situation on the Sinai Peninsula since the launch of the new Egyptian government, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea has decided to adjust the travel-alert levels for the Peninsula and its neighboring regions. With the adjustment effective as of October 16, the inland area of the Sinai Peninsula and the coastal area of the Gulf of Aqaba will remain under Level 3, while the travel-alert level for the coastal regions of Sharm El Sheik and the Gulf of Suez will be downgraded to Level 2 (Highly Cautious).
2. For the rest of the country, the previous Travel-alert Level 2 will be lowered to Level 1 (Precautious), except for Sallum near the border with Libya, whose level will remain unchanged at Level 2.

3. ROK nationals planning to travel to Egypt are advised to check the travel-alert level for their destination prior to their trip to ensure safe travel.
