1. The Foreign Ministry will offer lectures on Dokdo to youth of the Republic of Korea during their summer break with the aim to enhance their sense of territorial sovereignty over Dokdo, an integral part of the ROK territory, and help them better understand the ROK government’s policy on Dokdo.

* The lectures will be given at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy in Seoul to the following numbers of youngsters at the following dates:

◦ 15:00-17:00, August 5 (Tuesday): 300 middle school students
◦ 15:00-17:00, August 7 (Thursday): 300 high school students
◦ 15:00-17:00, August 12 (Tuesday): 300 college students

2. The lectures will cover information regarding Dokdo, including the ROK government’s policy on it and the grounds for the ROK’s territorial sovereignty over it. The students will also be given an opportunity to converse with diplomats. Those interested in participating in the event can apply at the Foreign Ministry’s website on Dokdo (http://dokdo.mofa.go.kr) from July 24.

* The participants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and presented a letter confirming their participation as well as small mementos.

3. The Foreign Ministry held similar events in 2012 and 2013, receiving good response from the participants. It will continue conducting various activities regarding the ROK’s territorial sovereignty over Dokdo.
