1. The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea appointed Taboi (Khy Hong), a famous music- and variety-show producer, VJ and MC in Cambodia, as the ROK’s Goodwill Ambassador for Public Diplomacy on July 25.

2. At the appointment ceremony held at the Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center on July 25, the ROK’s Ambassador to Cambodia Kim Han-soo presented Taboi with a letter of appointment signed by the ROK’s Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and asked him to actively promote Korea in Cambodia.

3. Taboi, a famous entertainer with many younger-generation fans in Cambodia, has been spearheading the spread of Hallyu (Korean Wave) in the country.

4. Over next two years, Taboi, as the ROK’s 9th Goodwill Ambassador for Public Diplomacy appointed by the ROK Foreign Ministry, is expected to use his musical and other entertainment talent to promote Korea in Cambodia through various media, including SNSs, thereby contributing to the enhancement of the bond between the peoples of the two countries.
