1. The tenth Republic of Korea-Japan-China Trilateral Senior Foreign Officials' Consultation took place in Seoul on March 11, chaired by Deputy Minister for Political Affairs Lee Kyung-soo of the ROK Foreign Ministry. Deputy Minister Shinsuke Sugiyama and Vice Minister Liu Zhenmin of the Japanese and Chinese Foreign Ministries attended the meeting as heads of their respective delegations.

2. The head delegates from the three countries noted with appreciation that their high-level meeting paved the way for restoring the trilateral cooperation mechanism back on track. Furthermore, they expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the three countries toward it.

◦ In particular, the head delegates from Japan and China extended appreciation to the ROK side for the active efforts it had made to bring the trilateral cooperation mechanism back on track as its chair.

3. In their meeting, the head delegates from the three countries discussed in depth the full range of matters necessary for preparing the trilateral Foreign Ministers’ meeting set to take place in Seoul in late March. They agreed to report on the outcome of their discussion on the future direction of trilateral cooperation projects at the Foreign Ministers’ meeting.
